You may not guess it but I started my “blogging-career” 10 years ago! That’s a long time, isn’t it? My first blog, which is still active, has been about the Lord of the Rings and everything connected with J.R.R.Tolkien for all that 10 years and I wish it will stay on the internet at least next 10 years 😀 (You can find it HERE, it is written completely in czech).
Two years after that LOTR blog I decided to create another one – this time only about me, my life, photography, travelling, atc. I have to say that I really like that place, because it gives me opportunity to write down all the ideas running through my head, share my travelling routes and tips, and also to present my photos and be given valuable feedback. (My second blog is HERE and also in czech).
And finally, about one month ago, I came to WordPress and simply made up a brand new blog on a platform I have never used before – just because I wanted to gain new experience, ideas and see, what is this WordPress all about. My plan was to discard this blog after few days, because I would probably have hardly any time to take care of the third blog…
However, I decided to stay. Why, you maight ask? Well… the are many answers to that question 🙂
Although I am pretty happy with my two czech blogs it is a little bit pitty that people from abroad can’t read almost anything I write and can only look at the photos. Therefore I considered it as a fine idea to have a “lighter version” of my personal blog written in english in order to share some of my thouhts with wider range of audience – and and also to be given an “international feedback” 🙂
Writing a blog in english is also challenging – english is my second language and I really don’t use it often in the written or spoken way (and this is what I love on my Erasmus exange: I have to use english in all possible ways!). So, I consider it as a fine opportunity to improve my english a bit 🙂
Writing in a (not only) foreign language also helps improving my vocabulary. I don’t know about you, but whenever I use a foreign language I discover a new way how to express myself – new words, senteces, atc 🙂
Blogging in general has taught me many useful skills – for example how to write nice posts, how to present my photos, how to write about my thoughts, how to communicate with my readers and also how to promote my blog. I met many interesting bloggers (usually only on the internet, but few of them in the reall world as well) and gained many and many ideas from their articles.
Also, I would like to mention that I love it when a reader of any of my blogs gets inspired with my stuff or finds something usefull or interesting!
So, these are the reasons which keep me blogging (and there are surely more of them but these are the main ones) – and I hope I will still like it after many years 🙂
What are your reasons for blogging? And what has blogging brought to you? Any usefull skills and experineces? How long are you blogging? Don’t be afraid to share your point of view on blogging in comments 😉
Yours Jitt 🙂
